The Last Actor: Filming Day 6

We finished up interiors in the office today. So all in all, there are only 4 scenes left to shoot out of the entire 13 scene script. It feels really good to be done with all the office stuff and we got done pretty early around 1pm today. Got some good cameos in during the big walk through scene and the coffee scene.

Crew and actors all had a good time and we got all the shots we needed and and good performances, the art direction was lacking but again, all a learning experience.

Gotta get all this film to kodak on monday to get it processed so i can get my ruff ruff cut in by screenings. Like i've told many people before, but not you mr. blog, is that the plan is to have everything shot by the end of the quarter. It doesn't matter if i don't get everything processed back before then though. The second quarter cut will be quite ruff, but i really don't give a poop cuz i have an entire 6 months before i have to turn in and show the final final cut. So all things considered everything is going according to plan.

The Last Actor: Filming Day 5

Wow am i tired. We shot about 5 pages today from 9 to 5 but we had like a two hour period where we couldn't shoot cuz we were waiting for the lead actress to get out of a test and get to location.

It was bring your kid to work day and this guy who worked at the office we shot at had his 3rd grade son, so he sat and watched us do some filming. He was pretty cool, we talked about The Sandlot and The Mighty Ducks movies.

Going to shoot again tomorrow at the same place so it was nice being able to leave the equipment all there. I'm just happy that it's all finally rolling and things are getting done. Sure it's not Citizen Kane but it's all a learning experience, still a film student, still figuring it all out.

Once tomorrows shoot is done I'll be much less stressed the bajezus out.

The Last Actor: Filming Day 4

Did a one page scene today between Toby and I. Did it without any crew but drew and timko which was a pain, but we still got it done in less then 200 ft so its all good. It's that time where i realize that i have other classes with things to do. We'll see if that happens. I want to make a movie without anything else to do but making that movie. Fuck RIT.

The Last Actor: Filming Day 3

Today we shot two scenes down at the Village Gate in the Office of the nice people of the Rochester Ad Council. It feels really good to have that stuff shot. Was stressin out hard core last night. Didn't go to bed til 6am, but wasn't tired at all cuz i was so wired. Shooting on film is a adjustment, with my biggest issue just being able to trust that we got the shot and not being able to watch the take right afterward.

Now its time to finalize and get art direction for next weeks big shoots, gah.

I don't think anyone is keeping up with this like people do with Jon Favreau's Iron Man 2 filming updates but whatev It'll catch on, and he'll be totally jelly up on my shnot.

The Last Actor: Filming DAY 2

So today was the second official day of filming for The Last Actor.

Shot all montage material today. Got some pretty sick stuff, went downtown, and to Ontario Beach. Saw a huge dead fish. Got pulled over by the cops. Ran down mainstreet full speed. Climbed some walls and bridges. Ate some good pizza.

Had a fun time and got good footage, could you ask for anything more?
