Sunday

Stripped more of the new fixer upper bike.

Watched special features of The Devils Rejects.

Went and performed at The Comedy Club for the graduation performance for the class i took this past month with Ralph Tetta. There was about 30 crowd members of mostly old people. They weren't to into that thing called laughing. On stage I didn't feel as good as I did this past Thursday but it was still good to just get onstage and perform.

Left right from The Comedy Club to Boulder Coffee downtown to perform at the Open Mic there. Did some new material and some new twists and extensions on older stuff and it worked out pretty well for the small crowd that was there. Def felt a lot more comfortable there then before at the club. And it was the first time I've ever performed stand up twice in one night which was actually pretty fun just to experience different crowds and rooms and such.

Oh and my friend in Ohio called and said he met Lance Fucking Armstrong in a restaurant in his college town today. God damn that is awesome. Seriously. Awesome.

SATURRRRDAY

Slept in from being wicked tired from the bike race.

Stripped down a bike i got the other day to turn it into a fixed gear while watching Planet Terror by Robert Rodriguez then Rob Zombies sophomore feature The Devils Rejects. I've seen Planet Terror multiple times before and it's still Sixty kinds of gut bursting awesome. Explosions, zombies, Guns, Babes, Babes with Guns, Babes with guns for legs. What more can you ask for?

It was the first time I've ever seen The Devils Rejects though and it definitely had the effect that Mr. Zombie was aiming for. Through the movie you start to root for the most terrible people on the planet. It's not hidden at all that the main characters are serial killing maniacs but throughout the film you start to root for them in hoping they won't get caught/killed by the cops. I had mixed feelings about Mr. Zombies first film House of a Thousand Corpses. I felt The Devils Rejects was much more focused and was a big progression in his directing talents. He definitely had a clear vision of what he wanted and was able to capture that beautifully and grittily in stunning 16mm film.

Then I went to the Dryden theatre and saw Alfred Hitchcock's Dial M For Murder in 3D. Two words....Grace Kelly....swooooon. Anyway, the 3D wasn't used to full potential, but it still looked pretty sweet even though the whole movie pretty much took place in one apartment. The story and characters were top notch of course like most of Hitchcock's films.

Friday=Awesome

Had a pretty radical day.

Went on a sweet 5 miler.

Road with 80+ other bikers around the city then too Pittsford for Critical Mass. It was really fun being in such a big group taking up the whole side of the road.

Was at the Pittsford plaza at 7:45 and sprinted back to Rochester to catch the 8pm show of House of Wax 3D with Vincent Price. It was pretty awesome. They used two projectors to show the image and the old process still holds up really well compared to the Digital 3D of today. There was an intermission in the middle of the film to change reels. These two things really had a nice nostalgia of watching 3D the old school the same way people used to 60 years ago.

Then went to Manhattan Square Park for the start of the an Alley Cat race. There were about 20 other racers. I was riding a bike i just bought that i just purchased from a friend a few days ago so i haven't had the time to tune it up or clean it yet. But it still road alright all things considering. For the race we went from checkpoint to checkpoint, but at every checkpoint you drew a card from a person there to a different checkpoint, but sometimes you drew a "go to jail" card and had to go to jail. So everyone was pretty much going all over to different places the whole time collecting "space bucks". Raced from 10:30pm to 12:30am straight all over the city from the Amtrak station, to Frontier Field, to Java's Alley, to The Village Gate, to Manhattan Square Park, to the Jail house, to Blue Cross Arena and other places around the city. By the end of it was was damn wicked tired. After the main race they did a skid competition, a balance one then a sprint comp. Got home around 2am then went to Denny's and had the best food i have ever eaten there cuz i was so hungry.

Thursdae

Woke up wicked late.

Got shampoo and conditioner from wegmans to make my hair purdy.

Went on a little 2 miler.

Went to The Comedy Club for the monthly open micapalooza. Singed up for one of the 5 lottery spots, and got it. Was pretty nervous all up until the point of getting on stage again. It's weird, like right up into that moment insecurities and second guessing assault my mind, but as soon as i grab the mic it all vanishes. Had a full crowd of over a hundred people which was awesome. Went up and mixed up my set a little bit with sprinkles of new stuff and it really felt good. Was just in the zone as one would say. Went over time by not noticing the Red Light of "wrap it up", but its all part of making mistakes and learning from them. Felt really good and had a lot of fun.

Wednesdae

Helped some friends move out of their Roc apt as they are moving to NYC tomorrow.

Went on a really good 5 mile run, had a good strong finish listening to rocky music.

Went to Comedy class in webster and learned some neato stuff.

Went to the Open Mic at Sullys bar. Performed some new material in front of a whopping one patron. yay sullys. Seriously its the same as telling jokes to a cardboard box.

BUT, performing again this coming Sunday at The Comedy Club in Webster for the class Graduation show at 7pm. Should have an actual crowd there which will be pretty rad.

Went to a bar to meet up with a bunch of people to say goodbye to my departing friends to NYC. Was pretty fun.

Tired.

Tooosday

Did a nice little 2.5 miler.

Went to Wegmans.

Got this awesome 8-Bit Weezer album.

Went and saw (500)Days of Summer. This movie more than any other in a long time did the most important things you can do in a film. I felt connected to the main character Tom played by Joseph Gordon-Levitt. I felt his happiness, his pain, his confusion and loneliness throughout the film. The film is a realistic portrayal of a modern romance. One that is every adjective in the book. The film illustrates through hopeless romantic Tom's point of view the entire relationship of one girl named Summer. Starting from the day they first meet-> through courting->relashionship->downfall->breakup-> till the day he finally moves on completely.

The non-linear structure of the film really helps illustrate the entire arc of Tom and Summers relationship as we get to see Tom crushed early on, then get too see how he got to that point, then how he gets better. It realistically shows how the male hopeless romantic mind works like no other film I've seen before it. It's definitely good to see a romantic film geared for a male audience and perspective. I could spoil the ending and moral of the story, but its far better to just go see it and experience it for yourself and make your own conclusions. I know I've been saying that about a lot of films lately, but it's just been a incredibly awesome week of watching films with this one, District 9 and Inglorious Basterds.

Wrote 15 more pages of my first feature length script tonight. Going to get the first draft done before school starts on the 7th of Sept.

It's 5am, damn.

monday

Went for an awesome 7.5 mile run today.

felt real damn good

Watched Bad Taste, Peter Jacksons first feature film today. It took him 4 years of filming on weekends to do it. Sure it had its flaws but it was definitely good inspiration in that if you want to do something, you just gotta go do it. And do it your way.

also did some laundry, rock and roll, yeah

Saw Inglorious Basterds last night. FUCKING AWESOME. So far my favorite film of the year. Go see it. And I have found a new love with the french actress Melanie Laurent. wow. marry me.

Went to an Indian Casino today for my friends bday. It was interesting seeing tons of geriatrics sitting at all the slots plunking away their money in hopes of good luck.

Saturrrrdayyy

In Wlsv.

Had an unpleasant encounter with a post office employee today. This dude looked like a mangy homeless dog, like he's been in a Vietcong POW camp for 20 years. Of course looks can be deceiving but his personality was much worst. Idk what it is but sometimes I really like it when someone i don't know is pissed or mean to me. It just gives me the chance to practice some acting and see what happens for fun. This instance probably wasn't the smartest idea, him being a postal worker and all. But it was still fun nonetheless.

Went to Darien Lake for the Blink-182 Reunion tour yesterday. It was pretty sweet. Tons of people. Got pretty good spots for lawn seating area. The light and technical aspect of the show was really good too. Took forever getting out, and almost ran out of gas but everything turned out well, except there being a road kill skunk on the road every 5 miles. Seriously it was disgusting, like someone was just planting them there like a big 70 mile obstacle course back to Wlsv. I half expected a red turtle shell to be thrown at me for good measure.

Going to go see Inglorious Basterds tonight.
Freaking Pumped.
